Biography
Upon high-school graduation in 2005, Jay moved back to North Carolina where he and Smiley whom are first cousins instantly linked up and created the production team "Chophouze". They started producing with fruity loops, pro tools digi 001, mpc 500 and triton keyboards. Smiley is also an artist who goes by “Smileyface”. Alot of their early production was used to complete his first mixtape “Smilez Alot”. Their first placement was presented by French Montana on the DVD series “Cocaine City” in 2006. Thereafter, they have produced several successful tracks including “What If” by Jada Kiss ft. Nas on his album “The Last Kiss” with over 300,000 albums sold; “Kesha” by 2 Chainz on “T.R.U. REALigion” the mixtape with over 4.1 million views; and “Envy” by Nicki Minaj on the mixtape “Beam me up Scotty” with over 4.5 million views. In addition, they’ve worked with notable Artists such as Future, Anthony Hamilton, Busta Rhymes, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Travis Porter, 2 Chainz, YG, Young Dolph, Young Scooter, Young Thug, Chief Keef, BJ the Chicago Kid, Oprah Tv Network and many more. With years of hard work and determination, they’ve managed to build a reputable brand in North Carolina which is a hard market. In 2013, they signed with Street Execs which is one of the most successful music management teams in Atlanta, GA.
