Biography

Mombao is a duo by Damon Arabsolgar (Italy-Germany-Iran) and Anselmo Luisi (Italy). Mombao is something between a ritual, a performance and a rock-electronic concert. The bodies of the two performers/ musicians are covered in clay and paint, the instruments are placed in the centre of the room, the audience gathers all around the set. Their performance is stunning and unpredictable; they range between primordial rhythms with voice and percussions, electronic music soundscapes, pop flavoured songs with psychedelic rock nuances. They play and perform pop-folk music which does not derive from any specific culture but which embraces them all, connecting the past and the future, traditional folk chants with new technologies. They are solar-punk.
