Biography
Sal Ly(born 26th November, 1997) is a Nigerian contemporary artist born and raised in Jos, Nigeria. She began putting out music in 2016, and after a hiatus in 2017, she returned with a bang single in November titled ‘Translucent’. Subsequent singles have brought her more visibility among music lovers. Her debut project; Premiere was released on the 21st of August, 2020. It debuted on Apple Music’s RnB Chart (No. 3) and All Genre Chart (No. 48). With numerous reviews from different music critics, this project has been described as audacious, wildly creative. With a Champion rating of 8.5 by Nigeria’s Pulse.ng, the project was described - “‘Premiere’ is one of the best bodies of work Nigerian music has seen in 2020. By significantly warping R&B perception to deliver amorous Gospel music in dedication to the supreme being, Sal Ly coasts on eclectic culturally-aware pop-based production delivered via TrapEDM, R&B and Afro&B formats.” In total, all of Sal Ly’s Music has been streamed over 1.5 million times across multiple platforms and channels- a particularly strong feat for an independent Christian artist living in Nigeria. Her vibe continues to grow in Nigeria and beyond as she leaves her listeners all over the world with an impression of her faith - which her music is built on. Her art is passionate, personal, real; and it’s purpose is to show the love of Christ to any one who would care to listen.
