Blaqbonez a.k.a Akumefule Chukwuemeka George is a Nigerian Rapper born on the 29th of Jan in Lagos, Nigeria. He started rapping at 13, & dropped his first project, “Hip Hop Is Blaq”, while attending OAU University. With a plethora of antics such as dissing the school’s VC in a song, winning Terry The Rapman’s Zombie competition (2012), becoming the captain of his Hennessy VS Class, Blaqbonez's won over a cult base, who also love him. He soon met then CEO of Chocolate City, veteran Rapper M.I. Abaga & was signed to 100 Crowns, an imprint. His first project “Bad Boy Blaq” peaked at 1 on HipHop Charts & in 2019, he declared himself, Best Rapper in Africa. Before long, he dominated mainstream Nigerian music conversations, creating arguably the biggest conversation around hiphop since Martel Lamb cypher. In Oct. 2019, his EP Mr Boombastic debuted at 1, & in Mar. 2020, the height of COVID, he had everyone typing #StreamHaba as he promoted his single. His last project Sex over Love, which dropped in April 30, 2021 received nods from Burna Boy & WizKid, & is listed one of the Top Albums of 2021 by Rolling Stones. BBC & Shut Up were synced in Showtime's Flatbush Misdemeanors (2021). In Feb. 2022, he sold out a 4,000 capacity venue for his first headline concert themed, "Breaking the Yoke of Love." In April, he released Commander, currently his 2nd most streamed song till date. Blaqbonez' steady grind has earned him 3 Headies nominations as well as an endorsement by Guinness Nigeria.
