Biography
New Orleans rapper Rob49's songs offer vivid depictions of street hustling and intense imagery drawn straight from his own experiences coming up, from struggles to success. He started rapping in 2020, but quickly produced a body of work that included frequently released mixtapes and the 2022 studio album Welcome to Vulture Island. Rob49 was born in New Orleans in 1999 and grew up in the housing projects that intersected the city's fourth and ninth wards, hence the "49" in his stage name. He rapped casually throughout high school, but it wasn't until 2020 that he would record any music. After jumping on a beat during a friend's recording session, it became clear that Rob had talent, and he was doing his own sessions days later. Things happened quickly from there, with tracks amassing and eventually being released on projects like 2020 mixtapes Krazy Man, Vulture, and 4our the World. 2021's 4GOD followed, and in 2022 Rob49 released his most ambitious project to date with the full-length studio album Welcome to Vulture Island. The set featured a host of big-name guest appearances, including contributions from Lil Baby, Birdman, Doe Boy, Babyface Ray, and others. ~ TiVo Staff, Rovi
