Biography
It’s crazy to think Lil Darius is only 17 years old, and he already has his eyes on set on becoming one of the greats. Hailing from Athens, Georgia, real name Darius Thorton started rapping just one year ago, wearing his heart on his sleeve and creating meaningful street anthems inspired by real-life experiences. While some may associate him with the typical Atlanta sound, even deeming him a cross between Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch, Darius wants to get out of that lane — with a burning desire to stand out. Inspired directly by the likes of Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, and T.I., Darius gained an early buzz when he released “Mud Brothers” featuring fellow Atlanta rapper Slimelife Shawty. The official music video boasts over half a million views on Youtube and counting. Suddenly, he went from 5K followers to 10K on Instagram, giving Darius the confidence to commit to the music full-heartedly. The same day Lil Darius recorded “Mud Brothers,” he also recorded his second biggest single “Focus,” featuring 21 Savage’s artist 21 Lil Harold. Speaking on the studio session, Darius states, “He was in the B Room and I was in the A Room. My manager B Rich, he knew him also so we went and talked to him. He said he wanted to listen to the song. He heard it, he liked it too. Those were the two big features I got in the same day.” Now, Lil Darius is shifting his focus to his solo artistry, releasing “Day 1’s” (produced by Helluva), “Feeling Like Rylo,” and “Skrt Vroom” all in the same month.
