Biography
Retroglyphs exploded onto the Retrowave and Synthwave scenes with a string of debut singles in 2016, including The Noose which was picked up by New Retro Wave's WeRuleNation channel. Pioneers of retrofuturism, Retroglyphs continue the traditions of bands like Tears for Fears, Human League, and New Order, with catchy intelligent songwriting that sounds inspired but never sounds derivative or copy cat. Retroglyphs has been selected as 88.5 WXPN's Philly Local Pick by Helen Leicht three times ("One More Kiss," A cover of Pearl Jam's "The Fixer", and "Closer") In 2018 the band released "Passport Volume I," an EP featuring collaborations with other synthwave artists. In March of 2019, Retroglyphs dropped their follow-up EP, "Angel Eyes.," with their song Talk It Out being featured on NRW's We Rule Nation and Spotify's coveted Fresh Finds playlist. Angel Eyes was followed up by a remix album featuring Diamond Ace, Autokira, and more. In 2020, the band released 3 collaborative singles with El Paso based synthwave producer Diamond Ace. The Retroglyphs & Diamond Ace collaboration was packaged into a new compilation called Street Art, released in December 2020 on Moonrocket Records. In June 2021 the band released two singles, an instrumental track called Postponed as well as a pop single Sunset Drips To The End of October. The band has several projects in the works. They are also actively writing for other artists in the scene of both synthwave and indie pop.
