Biography
Nadine El Roubi is a Sudanese artist based in Boston, USA. Since she started releasing music in 2018 with her first single "Throne", El Roubi has carved out "a unique space and sound" (SOLE Digital, 2020) for herself, blending between alternative ethereal sonics, to confrontational and provocative hip-hop, to smooth, sultry RnB and neo-soul. In 2020, El Roubi generated the attention of international Arab-rap legend Narcy, featuring on his album Spacetime Deluxe Ultra on a track alongside Oddisee. After various performances in Dubai and Abu-Dhabi, El Roubi gave her first headline performance at Cairo Jazz Club, after which she soon played her first festival at the XP music future conference in Riyadh, Saudi. In early 2022, El Roubi played her first two shows in London, UK in collaboration with Global Music Movement and Hiya Live Sessions. October 2022 marked the release of her debut EP entitled 'Triplicity', after which she was pioneered by Esquire Magazine Middle East as "the next big thing", with her lead single 'Honey Butter' being debuted on Ebro's Apple Radio show. The project was created in collaboration with Egyptian producer and engineer Kubbara, who has worked with artists such as Abyusif, Zaid Khaled, Donia Wael, and Wegz. El Roubi ended 2022 with a release party at Cairo Jazz Club, followed by a shout-out from RnB legend SZA.
