Biography
Natalia Lafourcade is one of the most acclaimed musical artists, songwriters, singers, and producers of Mexico and Latin America. As a composer she has been recognized on various occasions by SACM and ASCAP. She has won 14 Latin Grammys, 2 Grammy Awards, a Billboard award and 3 MTV Awards, among others. She has taken part in multiple ceremonies of the Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year and various Latin Grammy awards ceremonies. She participated in the 2018 Oscar Awards ceremony performing the theme song from the Pixar movie, Coco and in 2019, she took part in the Grammy Awards ceremony. She has collaborated as arranger, producer and performer with national and international musical artists and renowned orchestras. She has offered more than 250 concerts in Mexico, North American, Latin America and Europe. She has appeared on programs such as Austin City Limits, NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concerts”, “Live from Here” with Chris Thile and was featured in the second season of the Netflix series “Song Exploder”. Natalia supports various humanitarian institutions, among them the UN Refugee Agency, Earth’s Call and Save the Children. In 2018 she formed Un Canto por México, her own project to support philanthropic causes to rebuild a vibrant community center that was damaged by earthquakes in 2017 in Veracruz. In 2022 she released her new album De Todas las Flores with songs of her own, presented at the Carnegie Hall in NYC. And in 2023 she will be touring again.
