Biography
Blinky Bill ( Sellanga Ochieng') is a Kenyan Musician, Producer and DJ based in Nairobi. His style is a blend of African sounds mixed with Hip-hop, Jazz, Funk, pop following in the footsteps of his influences Quincy Jones, Dilla, Ye, Hugh Masekela, The Neptunes and Madlib who are all serial experimenters. He has put out 2 solo projects and 3 with Kenyan Arts and Music Collective Just A Band. His album 'We Cut Keys 2' comes out in 2021 taking off where 2018's successful Everyone's Just Winging it And Other Fly Tales left off and has in the process worked with Goldlink, Sampa The Great, Elida Almeida, Karun, Sichangi and many others. He is an Alumni of the Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, One Beat Music in the US and is also a TED Fellow. Previous collaborators have included Sampa The Great, Ossie, Emawk, Nneka, Petite Noir, Goldlink, MDQ amongst many more.
