Biography
A genuine pioneer of Irish music, Sequence has long been at the heart of the country’s drill and Afrobeat scenes for a number of years - as an artist, video maker and entrepreneur. His early releases made a major impact, landing on a number of key genre playlists and leading to a 2019 second stage performance at Longitude festival. Taking a break from releases to launch on his New Eire video platform, he returned in early 2020 with the single 'Pimpin’ and the Misunderstood EP - collection that also included the Afropop anthem 'Shine', recently featured on the soundtrack to season 3 of 'Atlanta'. The next step was to team with Galway’s LukeFly for 'Free', once more combining cutting edge beats with an ear for melody and receiving support from the likes of Spotify, BBC, Rinse FM and Reprezent. He spent the first few months of 2021 directing videos for some of the key names on the Irish scene and touring with Headie One, before returning to his own musical output. 'My Way!' was a song for those who work 9-5, a drill track to soundtrack the weekend before returning to the normal world. Once again produced by LukeFly, the track paved the way for the 2022 release of his Afrobeat mixtape, the first single from which will be the emotionally effecting ‘Badman Riddim’ - released in June.
