Biography
Jamaican dancehall producer Dunw3ll went from a self-taught fruity loops hobbyist to making beats for Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Rvssian and more. He has contributed to a number of mid to late-2010s dancehall hits including the billboard charting, gold certified “Fever” with Vybz Kartel. Dunw3ll was born Mario Dunwell in 1993. He grew up in a family of music lovers and it was there that his music interests started. An addiction to the art ensued and through a mutual friend he got the chance to coproduce a track for Vybz Kartel. It was here Dunw3ll found his calling. Popcaan’s album “Where We Come From” also featured the skills of Dunw3ll who sat in with MixPak's Dre Skull to record and produce. After establishing a relationship with Linton "TJ" White, renowned for working with Dancehall Icon Vybz Kartel, Dunw3ll’s catalogue went sky high, working on a number of hit singles including “Without Money”, “Miami Vice Episode”, “Blackberry”, “Cya Test We”, “CT Scan”, “Pressure”, “Man Straight”, “Dancehall” and “Gone Get Better” - which was covered by American girl group Fifth Harmony. Having developed a notable reputation in the dancehall scene, Dunw3ll then built relationships with several artistes before they rose to fame including Dexta Daps, Masicka, jahmiel, DING DONG and Shenseea. These relationships led to several successful songs including "Weak To U", "Roll Clean", "U Me Luv", "Yeng Yeng", "Pon Mi" and a massive collaboration between Dexta Daps & Masicka "Leader".
