Biography

After dropping his first tracks on Basic Recordings and Versatile, France’s Julien Jabre (also half of The Deep with DJ Deep & Soha with DJ Gregory ) decided to launch Elias in 2003 as a platform for his own music in total freedom. Julien released several records on Elias including the timeless classics "Swimming Places", re-released in 2019 on Defected Records, and "War" that went on to pick up support from the likes of Derrick May, Laurent Garnier and many other renowned DJs. After a decade of working behind the scenes with various artists ( The Joubert Singers, Madonna, Martin Solveig, Black Coffee, Dimitri From Paris…) and scoring for films. Julien returns on his own Elias imprint craving for some new deep dance music explorations with "Samana", "Cavalcade" or "Back in the Morning" . His first release of 2021, "'Lost Again'" follows his contribution to "Delicate Limbs (feat. serpentwithfeet)", Virgil Abloh and serpentwithfeet’s collaborative single, out in January. A track ten years in the making, "'Lost Again'" is a majestic, blissed-out downtempo house jam, centred around warm, funk-driven pads and synth hook complimenting Julien’s slick vocals - the debut vocal performance of his extensive music career.
