Biography
The Last Vegas are a hard rock band from Chicago whose style draws from glam, punk, and sleaze metal. Comprised of Chad Cherry (lead vocals), Johnny Wator (guitar), Adam Arling (guitar), Danny Smash (bass), and Nate Arling (drums), the band cites AC/DC, the Stooges, Mötley Crüe, and Ted Nugent among its influences. The Last Vegas made their recording debut with the full-length album Lick 'Em and Leave 'Em (2004) on the independent label Get Hip Records. A second full-length album, Seal the Deal (2006), followed on the label. After leaving Get Hip, the Last Vegas released a five-track EP, High Class Trash (2007), featuring the song "Raw Dog," which had been featured in the popular video game Guitar Hero II (2006). A full-length album, The Last Vegas (2008), followed a year later. Also in 2008, the Last Vegas were invited to open for Mötley Crüe on their Saints of Los Angeles tour after winning a battle of the bands contest hosted by Guitar Center at the Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles. The Mötley Crüe tour, also featuring Hinder and Theory of a Deadman, carried on well into 2009, filling arenas nationwide, and ensured plenty of publicity for the Last Vegas, whose concurrently released single, "I'm Bad," became their biggest hit to date. In 2012, the Last Vegas released their fourth studio album, Bad Decisions, featuring the single "Evil Eyes." Working with veteran producer Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Judas Priest), they followed it up in 2014 with Sweet Salvation. For 2016's Eat Me, the Last Vegas opted for a looser, self-produced approach that struck a balance between bluesy, Zeppelin-esque riffing, boogie rock, and psych-infused acoustic fare. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
