Biography
Whether it is as a part-time astronaut, a love-drunk crying cowboy or a leisure cruise captain, Madrid based composer/producer Aaron Rux takes his listeners on a musical scavenger hunt where emotions are invoked through fictional characters making noises in imaginary spaces. While his conceptual debut, Pacific Princess, was a chronical of a happy-hour sunset cruise that gradually sank into a desperate karaoke sing-along, his second album, Crying Cowboys, offers up a batch of soft-rock ballads that recount falling in and out of love as if it were a fever dream or a hangover in an empty desert. A bossa-nova-phile and 70's pop-rock enthusiast, Rux blends analogue and modern textures to create nostalgic and sensual songs with small doses of humor. In addition to his solo project, Rux often works composing scores for film and television. With more than 20 credits to his name, he has collaborated with numerous directors in a what some critics have called “New Spanish Cinema”. Rux also collaborates frequently with Spanish electronic, high energy singer-songwriter, Joe Crepúsculo, turning the nobs on the synthesizers, dancing, and singing back-up.
