Biography

Drahthaus is an experimental electronic Band from Vienna, Austria. Founded in 2015, the quartet played a lot of shows in clubs and on festivals in Europe, like Donauinselfest, Fusion Festival, Waves Festival or Transart. They released 2 Studio albums and 2 Eps, wrote filmmusic and released various collaborations with vocalists such as Clara Luzia or Aunty. Stylistic variety and metamorphosis are the artistic leitmotif of the collective. Drahthaus is electronica that allows a little pop and wants a little jazz. The ambition to transcend boundaries and make new spaces tangible is a narrative, that runs like a threat through all aspects of the project. In 2020 they released their debut album (Drahthaus) – an instrumental ridge walk, to witch some like to dance, others like to paint and the third just want close the eyes and drift away. Or as the magazine Profil says: “Fine motor skills à la Aphex Twin”. They gained around 400K plays on YouTube with their extraordinary music videos. In 2022 they wrote the score for the film FIREWORKS, directed by Sebastian Schmidl. The film premiered at Diagonale Film Festival 2022. The Soundtrack was released on Warner Chappell PM.
