Biography

Starting out in 2016 with his self-produced 4-track-cassette debut album ‘I Want My Honey Back’, Long Tall Jefferson cut his teeth in the European singer/songwriter circuit playing every show he could get his hands on. He continued with The Golden Ticket Sessions in 2017; a live session album documenting his stripped down solo repertoire from the road recorded one afternoon in Leipzig, Germany. Heading to a proper recording studio for the first time, Jefferson came out with his sophomore record ‘Lucky Guy’ in 2018. A mixture of down-to-earth folk sounds and more pop-oriented arrangements the album garnered widespread critical acclaim with the Neue Zürcher Zeitung calling him “a magician of fine detail.” For his third studio album in 2020 Long Tall Jefferson felt the need for change and invented his own genre 'Cloud Folk' on which he combined his storytelling with a zeitgeisty sound full of autotune choirs, synthesizers and drum machines in addition to the omnipresent fingerstyle guitar. A restless touring musician Jefferson has played over 400 shows across Europe including festival highlights like Eurosonic, The Great Escape, Zurich Festival, Waves Vienna, Festival Génériq and more. In his native Switzerland he shared bills with Big Thief Hayley Heynderickx and Noah Gundersen among many others. His catalog drew comparisons to the likes of Father John Misty, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Lambchop, Kevin Morby, The Tallest Man On Earth or Elliott Smith.
