Biography
New Age composer John Adorney began studying the cello at age eight, and soon taught himself guitar and piano. He went on to study classical music at the University of Connecticut and earned his BA in Music and Psychology from Antioch University. While living in Los Angeles, he began teaching music at a school for children with developmental disabilities before founding his own music therapy practice in 1991. By the 1990s Adorney began composing New Age-influenced instrumental material, eventually landing three pieces on the 1998 Domo compilation Reflections. The exposure brought him to the attention of the EverSound label, and later that same year Adorney issued his debut album, Beckoning. Since then, he has released an additional 15 solo albums, and produced albums/tracks for other artists such as Diane Arkenstone, Curtis Macdonald, Steve McPeters, Lino, Randy Baltzell and Nitish Kulkarni.
