Biography

Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kory Miller began his professional music career in college, where he studied music and songwriting in the Worship space. Currently residing in Denver, Colorado, he is one of several artists that comprise the collective of Red Rocks Worship (currently under the Sony affiliate label, Provident Music Group). On his journey to explore the correlation between emotion and melody, he loves to create songs and lyrics that take us through a cinematic endeavor of love, loss, wandering, and ultimately, connection with our Creator. The songs he writes blur the line between the story being told, and the narrative we're experiencing, with hopes of creating a shared reality. Influenced by the impressionistic era of music and art, Kory has gathered inspiration from artists like Brooke Fraser, James Taylor, and Jarryd James. “When I’m writing, I like to be surprised by those unexpected melodies that seem to come directly from the moment I’m in. I’m not one to shy away from tension—in life or in song. I actually embrace the initial friction of those melodies and find that they help give the song space to translate real concepts in an honest way.”
