Biography

Lahar (pronounced luh-har) calls Atlanta home but grew up 10,000 miles away in Bangalore, India. He writes, records, and produces all of his music from his home studio.
Surrounded by Bollywood music at home, Lahar sang Hindi songs long before he dreamt of being a pop artist. It wasn’t until his best friend introduced him to Green Day in the fifth grade that he fell in love with American music. He related to the pop-punk genre in early high school, listening to bands like We The Kings, All Time Low, The Maine, and Mayday Parade. He spent most of his high school years playing drums in several bands around the Bangalore music scene.
Lahar began his journey as a songwriter and artist after moving back to Atlanta, where he was born, in 2014. His early songwriting influences included Ed Sheeran, Vance Joy, The 1975, and Lauv. In 2016, he released a self-titled EP but realized his vision would best be served if he produced his songs himself .
Lahar’s 2020 release ‘Terrified’ broke his first, modest but meaningful, 5,000-play milestone on Spotify. He went on to release ‘Undo,’ co-produced by Canadian producer FITZGERVLD in 2021, followed by his all-solo releases ‘Needed You’ and "Bad at Getting Over It" in 2022.
Lahar's single "I Would Die," co-written and produced by Aaron Pace, released in Aug. 2022.
Lahar's latest single "do u think about me?" is out now.
