Biography
The first song singer-songwriter Nat Jay ever recorded was placed on an episode of a major ABC TV show. She has since gone on to receive over 35 placements in film and TV networks around the world, like MTV, the CW, Netflix, Nickelodeon, and more. Working with producer Winston Hauschild for many years, she released two EPs, many singles, and full-length album, All I Think When I Wake Up, which received a nomination for Pop Album of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. She has shared the stage with such esteemed songwriters as Canada's own Juno Award winners Dan Mangan and Sebell, as well as Matthew Barber, Oh Susanna, Jay Brannan, and Angus & Julia Stone. The artist engaged the assistance of award-winning European pop producer Ovidiu "Ovi" Bistriceanu to construct her 2019 electropop album, The Flash of a Fight. The duo continued their collab on her 2021 single, “Young at Heart,” and are currently in studio working on a new album for release is 2023. In her work, Nat Jay transforms her struggles into music form, turning pain into something beautiful and proving that hook-driven pop can be synonymous with artistic depth.
