Biography

Maicey has been expressing herself through songwriting for as long as she can remember. She has grown and evolved as a songwriter into adulthood through her diverse array of musical influences. Raised on alternative indie, post-punk, folk and blues, then growing up with trip hop, synth-pop and jazz funk fusion, her music is sonically untethered by the boundaries of genre. Lyrically, Maicey's songs take the form of storytelling from an array of outlooks, both objective and subjective, in their characters, pulling inspiration by both her own life and the lives and experiences of others. She is heavily inspired by Portishead, Nai Palm, James Blake, Moses Sumney and ELIZA 
 Her first major break in her career came when she opened for Brooklyn neo-soul artists Phony Ppl in 2019, performing a stripped back set accompanied by Ed Mills on acoustic guitar. 
 Maicey's 5 song project including Barricade is set to release mid 2023 and will showcase a series of songs derived from her poetry and garageband demos which have been transformed into lush, enthralling tracks. 
 Maicey already has an audience who await a taste of new music with eager anticipation and she intends to provide them and an entirely new audience with her most detailed and thorough musical work to date.
