Angels, demons and death as a traveling companion The voices of Tanja and Camilla will guide you through the universe of Onbc. They have previously been compared to singers and bands like Mazzy Star (Hope Sandoval), Prefab Sprout (Wendy Smith), Julee Cruise and The Cardigans. Without sounding like the aforementioned bands, Onbc also combine strong melodies and beauty with lyrical depth anf often morbid themes. The playfulness of the lyrics and the music, as well as the vowels and the music, is what particularly gives Onbc their distinctive character. Mikkel Max Hansen's twangy guitar gives color to the music. Dreamy notes of surf, country and americana a la Chris Isaak - and then a splash of extreme noise a la The Jesus and Mary Chain gives charisma to the whole universe. Beneath this: Ivan Petersen's simple, intelligent drumming combined with Florentz's solid and sometimes gritty malicious bass. The themes of Simonsen's organs, chimes and vibraphone weave through this landscape, tying it all together in a complex and succesful unity. Onbc was formed in 2014 as a quartet and rose from the ashes of the trio Oliver North Boy Choir. By including Tanja Simonsen the ABBA constellation was complete, and the band began to perform live shortly thereafter. The members have background in bands such as legendary Danish indie pop band Superheroes, indie band epo-555 and The Boombox Hearts.
