Biography
Calgary, Alberta’s 2016 YYC Awards “Group Of The Year”, The New Electric, has seen nothing but success since the release of their debut single, Life’s What You Make It; Canadian Pop Radio’s #26 most played song of 2016. The hit song took off, and saw impressive chart heights of: #18 on Hot AC, #26 on CHR (Top 40), and #28 on Main AC. The single was recently nominated at the 2017 Canadian Radio Music Awards for Best New Group: Mainstream AC. Their unique sound has also garnered over 760,000 collective streams on Spotify, proving that 2016 was just a taste of the good times ahead for The New Electric. The debut EP, Living Loud was released on October 28, 2016, just before the band went on to support Backstreet Boy – Nick Carter, on a 3-week Cross-Canada tour. The leading track from the EP, Ride This Feeling, was recorded with producer Ryan Stewart (Carly Ray Jepsen, Victoria Duffield, Owl City), who recently finished working on The New Electric’s newest release, T-Shirt. The sexy new Summer anthem is sonically inspired by the fun energy of DNCE, grooves from The Weeknd, with a throw-back twist of Michael Jackson. The single is already on fire with massive support from Spotify Canada, the fans, and Canadian pop radio (with a peak of #29 at HOT AC). Follow Canada’s next big independent band as they fearlessly pioneer their way onto people’s playlists around the world. Join their adventures on social media @TheNewElectric.
