Biography
Wichita/Nashville/Portland indie pop trio Crusoe have released A Cure for Gravity. The EP follows the group’s 2015 debut 3-song effort Captivate, which has amassed nearly 500,000 Spotify streams since its release. The title A Cure for Gravity comes from the lyrics of “Go and Get It,” and it's just about pushing to find that thing that keeps you moving forward, with so much bringing us down in this life,” explains vocalist Jeremy Spring. “I think for me, it's making music and sharing it with others that keeps me afloat. The first 5 tracks are resolved optimistic parts of curing your own gravity, but the last two tracks really take that heaviness head on. That's part of the healing process too - you’ve got to go right through it before you can really move on.” Crusoe came together in 2015 as a group of lone wolves - outcasts, if you will. A trio of talent lost in the city at night, alone amidst the busy and electric bed of music. Fronted by vocalist Jeremy Spring (Abandon Kansas, Glass Age), the band creates a relentlessly optimistic blend of alternative and pop - weaving between the stylings of Grouplove, AWOLNATION, and BØRNS, among others. The group is rounded out by track producer Dustin Burnett (Zayde Wølf, That Sound) and drummer Darren Elder (Halo Studio, The Wrecking). Crusoe has seen an impressive sync history, with song placements in Netflix's Love (Seasons 2-3), the film Bruno and Boots, and TV shows Born This Way + Degrassi.
