Biography
Label - Dualtone Web - www.thetriggercode.net Hometown - Adrian, MI Based out of - Nashville, TN since 1999. The Trigger Code's release of Black Mountain / White Lake in 2021 was a process that took nearly seven years. It and it's 20+ songs were nothing short of ambitious. However, with the latest release, DEFIANCE, set for early 2023, momentum was a priority for Taylor Sorensen (the writer / producer behind the Trigger Code). Although, still ambitious (read on to find out why), DEFIANCE has taken just seven months to bring to fruition. In June of '22 Tyler Micah Eckel (a high school friend and whose father is a mentor of Sorensen) succumbed to a 20+ year battle with paranoid schizophrenia by taking his own life. Tyler was a prolific writer and poet, writing literally thousands and thousands of poems and short stories. Through the encouragement of his family Sorensen set out to sift through his work and begin to put his words to song. Tyler's words and his writings were fists thrown at the nightmare of images he saw and voices he heard. They were his way of defying the demons. With the release of DEFIANCE, the Trigger Code has set out to bring light to the works of Tyler Micah Eckel, bring some measure of healing to his family and those who love him, as well as to offer a tool to those suffering with mental illness and to those supporting them.
