Biography

Hailing from the heavy ocean swells and rugged coastlines of South Australia but now firmly entrenched as a Byron shire local, Luke Morris has traded in his solo indie folk musings to form Aussicana outfit Luke Morris and the Heavy Hitters. Collaborating with four members from Ocean Alley being Nic Blom (bass), Angus Goodwin (lead guitar), Lachy Galbraith (keyboards) and Tom O’Brien (drums) Nullarbor is the lead single from forthcoming album Long Desert Highways due out mid 2023. Recorded in the Byron Hinterland at Rockinghorse Studios with gun producer Paul Pilseniks ( Dope Lemon / Living End / Silverchair / Angus and Julia Stone) the Heavy Hitters take you down a meandering journey of their very own unique brand of Aussicana sitting comfortably next to fellow compatriots Floodlights, The Slingers and Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks. Luke Morris and The Heavy Hitters first single Nullarbor is out now featuring the dreamy tones of Darcy Dexter (Seaside). Grab your deck chair, put your feet on the esky with a cold one and immerse yourself in the 90’s desert sounds of an Australian sunburnt countryside of bushfire moons, blood orange skies and the quintessential cowgirl where one story ends and another begins. The second single off the album, 'Somewhere on a Beach' has just been released feb 2023.
