Biography

Ordinary People have groove and grit. Born and raised in New Jersey, Seamus, Frankie, Ryan, and Donny specialize in their fusion of rap, funk, rock, blues, and even jazz or folk to create a mixed-influence sound unlike anyone else in their local scene. With D.I.Y roots and built-in funk, their first two independent albums, "The Sun & Moon Conspiracy" (2020) & "Burning the Midnight Oil" (2022), is the beginning of what will be an ever-evolving discography. Ordinary People formed in 2019 and began writing their first album "The Sun and Moon Conspiracy", and a year later subsequently released their first live album "What's 911s Phone Number?" including songs from both their first and second albums "Burning the Midnight Oil". The band incorporates a multitude of genres, led by Frankie Revis's signature jam/grunge-inspired guitar playing, accompanied by a bass taking notes from both Claypool and Pastorius, tied with Donny's marksman-like percussion ability, and do so with both funk & rap acting as some their most prevalent influences. Through the voice of a devoted artist, Seamus' lyrics articulate themes of love, addiction, internal conflict, and a niche perspective of religion dating back to his and Ryan's childhood years in catholic school. The band resembles something like Iggy Pop on stage, and Ordinary People strive live with sweat, intensity, rhythm, and power. Be on the lookout for a new live record and acoustic EP coming in 2023.
