Biography

After the Talent Africa Urban Star Search competition, held from May to July 2011, Tucker signed with Aly Alhibai’s Talent Africa in 2011 along with Martha Smallz as a collective named AirporTaxi. He released his first mixtape, The High Definition Mixtape in 2012. In 2014, Tucker released his second mixtape, The Tucker Tuesdays Compilation Mixtape, after which he continued to hone his skills through guest appearances on dozens of tracks. In July 2016, he released a 6-song project titled Juli, and he won the Sweet 16 Award at the UG Hip-Hop Awards for Calm Before The Storm in December of the same year. On 19th July 2018, Tucker dropped an EP on his birthday titled “Vroom!!” featuring Blixxack, BigTril, Keko, JB, Lagum, Pryce Teeba, Abaasa, M2kaNE (South Africa) & Angell Mutoni (Rwanda). It was executive produced by Samurae at Talent Africa Studios, and featured production from Stonetown, Baru, Aethan, Rey Macc, Lagum, Jammy (Cameroon) & Just Geo (UK). In 2019, Tucker HD featured on “As If”, the first single off Martha Smallz’s debut album “Moonlight”. He later released two big singles, “Lily” & “Chai” featuring Blixxack. He also ft. on Byg Ben’s “UG’s Most Wanted: Behind Bars”, which was recognized in the Top 20 African Hip-Hop Songs of 2019. Tucker kicked off 2020 with music releases, featuring on “Mpambana”, the first single off B-Flex’s album, before dropping two new singles “Addiction” and “Samandari” with Blixxack.
