Biography
“Kristin Korb is a jewel of jewels. The bassist and vocalist commands both of her instruments with panache, engaging them simultaneously with an ease comparable to breathing.” All About Jazz Steeped in the groove stomping tradition of her mentor Ray Brown, bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb departs with her own reflections of the Great American Songbook to tell stories in a warm, surprising, and approachable style. Korb fell in love with jazz, singing, and the bass at a jazz camp when she was thirteen. Her journey since that life-changing camp has taken her all over the world, playing with living legends including Jeff Hamilton, Alex Riel, Bruce Forman, Benny Green, Mike Wofford, Sheila Jordan, and Nils Landgren. After building her career based in Southern California, she fell in love, married, and moved to Denmark to be with her Danish husband in 2011. Now, with ten albums to her name, Korb continues her pursuit of innovative mainstream jazz at its very best.
