Biography
Born in Thessaloniki, Fotis Siotas has recorded on more than one hundred albums as a violinist, singer and orchestrator. His involvement with music began at age six with the Ayia Triada Children's Choir. He began studying violin and singing at nine at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Siotas was a member of many local bands, such as Podilates, Boomstate and Evi Evan. In 1993 he began collaborating with Sokratis Malamas and Thanasis Papakonstantinou on recordings and as a live performer. Siotas has worked with Giannis Aggelakas and Oi Episkeptes, collaborates with the guitarist-producer, Babis Papadopoulos and performs with Pavlos Pavlidis. Siotas founded the duet Sancho 003 in 2005 with guitarist Kostas Pantelis and released two albums ("We Buy Gold", "Muzga"). In 2016 he formed the band Σωτήρες along with Lefteris Moumtzis Kostas Pantelis, and Vasilis Bacharidis. In 2019 he released the album "Ta Deytera", with music by Siotas and lyrics by Thodoris Gkonis. 2021 will see the release of a new single 'Skouria Kai Meli' written by Lefteris Moumtzis and Andreas Trachonitis, with lyrics by Stavros Stavrou, and in 2022 he is releasing his new album "Dyo Lathi" with lyrics by Thodoris Gkonis. He has worked with Aris Biniaris on the theatre productions 'Wake up Vasilis (National Theatre of Greece) and 'Dance of Fire' (Municipal Theatre of Piraeus). He has composed for the dance group Sinequanon, the Athens Festival, the National Theatre and many other productions.
