Biography

Kenneth tells us his purpose: “I was born to point people to God—to give them hope, and a true sense of their inestimable value in the eyes of their heavenly Father and their Redeemer. Through song, through words, through every medium available to me, I am to proclaim my Lord’s glorious gospel, and do the greatest good I possibly can to my fellow human beings.” An award-winning songwriter, producer and performer, Kenneth began his career in the music industry with “Heaven—Don’t Miss It For the World,” an album expressly for the youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1989, he gained a wider audience with the release of “Greater Than Us All,” a concept album about Jesus Christ. Next came the contemporary sounding “Voices” (1991), followed by two more concept albums: “My Servant Joseph” (1993), and “Women at the Well” (1995). In 1998 he released his most personal album, “Stories From Eden’s Garden,” which earned him 5 Pearl Awards, including Album of the Year, and an Indie nomination for Contemporary Christian Album of the Year from the Association for Independent Music. Then came “A Prayer Unto Thee” (1999), “Hear My Praise” (2002), “Face to Face—Kenneth Cope Collection” (2005), “All About You” (2008), and the EP, “Rise and Shine” (2012). Meanwhile, for the last two decades, Kenneth has been creating a dramatic musical for the stage about the life of Jesus Christ, titled, “Son of Man.” He and his wife Kathy have three daughters and live in Millcreek, Utah.
