Biography
KWAKU is the refreshing proof that you should always listen to your mother. Hailing from Newton, Massachusetts, but with roots in NYC, Mid America, The Netherlands & his father's homeland of Ghana, he has always been different. First inspired by the “King of Pop”, Michael Jackson, KWAKU fell in love with dance. However, it wasn't until his mother bet him to try writing songs that he found his true calling. At first, he was only writing remixes for himself & sharing with close friends, but as he began to experiment with his voice, he started making original songs and eventually posting them publicly, allowing him to not only grow as a songwriter, producer, and vocalist but also build a loyal fan base. Since graduating from St. John's University in Queens, NY. and attending Berklee College of Music for a Masters in Music Business. KWAKU has amassed over 2 million combined streams and has packed venues in Boston, NYC, and LA. With catchy songs and a versatile sound, Kwaku allows his honest storytelling to share not only his stories, but those looking for a voice. Fusing his unique background with his creativity, originality, and strong songwriting ability, he is well on his way to making a big impact in the entertainment world. Repping Beantown and Queens, NY, KWAKU will soon be a household name.
