Biography

Vienna Circle is a musical project by English songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist Paul Davis. The band often described as progressive rock, combine genres such as metal, classical, hard rock, jazz, pop, experimental and folk. After growing up in a small English village listening to artists such as Pink Floyd, Camel, Steely Dan and Dream Theater, Vienna Circle was formed back in 2007 by Paul Davis along with his brother Jack, and as a duo they released 2 albums. In 2008 they released their debut album “White Clouds”, a concept album set in World War 1 which flagged as rising stars in the progressive rock community. Inspired to live up to these demands, the brothers followed up White Clouds with “Silhouette Moon” in 2013. Silhouette Moon again receiving positive reviews, saw the band release an hour long “making of” documentary along with a book titled “Wreathed in Dreams”, documenting the writing process of the album. The years that followed Silhouette Moon would see co-founding member Jack Davis leaving the band on good terms due to other commitments. With Paul Davis now the only permanent member of Vienna Circle, he started work on writing, recording and producing what would become Vienna Circles third studio album “Secrets of the Rising Sun” on which he wrote and performed all instruments except for the drums, leaving this to regular collaborator Alex Micklewright.
