Biography
JETHRO TAIT is a singer-songwriter based in Johannesburg, South Africa. His strong songwriting abilities have gained him recognition - having written chart-topping singles not only for himself but for some of South Africa’s top artists. After signing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing in 2013, Jethro took his first step into the industry as a songwriter. He has since penned songs for The Voice season 2 winner, Craig Lucas (charting singles ‘I Said This’ and ‘Smother’ as well as others on the album,) DJ Kent, Pascal & Pearce and Majozi to name a few. At the end of 2017 Jethro released his first solo offering by lending his vocal and songwriting ability to Pascal & Pearce for the smash hit “Running Wild,” which topped charts across SA radio and reached multi-platinum certification. Riding on the success of “Running Wild,” Jethro has since released a number of well received singles, including a collaboration with DJ Kent on the summer dance jam titled, “The Words.” A lyrically suave heartbreak song titled “Who Are You.” As well as his most successful solo single to date “SAD” which topped charts and received a SAMA nomination for “Record of The Year.” Jethro’s first body of work, a vulnerable and moving EP titled “I Don’t Sleep,” also received a SAMA nomination for “Best Pop Album.” The 6 track EP is a collection of songs that are very personal and honest making it a perfect introduction to who Jethro is as an artist.
