Biography
In today’s contemporary music scene, few artists possess talent as authentic as Christon Gray. An Ohio native, Christon comes from the same stock where fellow music greats John Legend, TwentyOne Pilots, The O’Jays and The Isley Brothers got their start. Christon’s music combines elements of his soulful upbringing; classical, jazz, gospel, hip-hop and contemporary R&B. This blend of musical touch affords him crossover appeal into the mainstream and made way for his 2016 massive hit "Stop Me" on The Glory Album released on RCA. The project reached number five on Billboard's R&B chart, number nine on the Hip Hop chart, number six on the Christian chart, and has been in rotation on a variety of media outlets as HBO's Ballers, FOX's Lethal Weapon, the movie Rampage, NFL Madden's opening intro, to name a few. Last year, Christon released a much anticipated sequel to the 2014 critically-acclaimed School of Roses, his biggest solo project to date and his first to land at number 5 on the R&B chart. School Of Roses 2 premiered August 2021, just one week before the sudden loss of his mother to a short battle with lung cancer. His latest single, 'I’ll Be', an R&B/House record released 2/11/22 has many guessing at what expect musically, melodically and emotionally in his upcoming single, Uber. Christon has fully embraced being an independent artist and is anticipating some of his brightest days climbing the charts in multiple genres of music.
