Biography

After studying science and engineering in both the US and South Korea, R&B singer-songwriter Rakiyah, makes another debut with her own reinvented sound of Alternative and Experimental, Smooth R&B. At a young age, the New Jersey native was inspired by artists such as Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Janet Jackson, and Donna Summer, creating a template for her experimental sound in R&B. While many listeners would describe her vocals as celestial and soothing, they’d say she also holds her own lane in Hip Hop, and are excited to see her growth for the next years to come. Especially with her unique found interest to incorporate Korean lyricisms, and her adventures into other genres.
