Biography
"Stunning, cinematic songwriting..." - Clash Magazine. London based Chris James aka Run Rivers has written + recorded vocals for an array of dance artists including Tinlicker, Andrew Bayer, Joris Delacroix, Dosem, Joseph Ashworth, Ownboss… DM him on Instagram to collaborate. "Run Rivers creates a faultless fusion of subtle folk and electronic grandeur..." - The Line Of Best Fit His self-produced ‘Sunlight EP’ was described by DJ Eddy Temple-Morris as “phenomenal”. It was mixed by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay) + features singer Lorna Rose. Most of the Run Rivers tracks were mixed by Suneil Pusari (Michael Kiwanuka, Rufus Wainright), with epic strings by Matthew Kelly (Maribou State). 'Couldn't Love You More' has Nick Ramm (Cinematic Orchestra) on piano. Over the years Chris has played many gigs + festivals as well as performing his songs 'You Made It' + 'Erase You' on DJ Shadow’s album + world tour. Stopping off in New York to record his duet ‘I’m On Fire’ (Ninja Tune) with singer Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), a haunting ballad with strings by The Balanescu Quartet. Creating cinematic music has led to Chris' songs being featured on many TV shows, films + trailers including Film 4, 'CSI', 'The Vampire Diaries', 'True Blood', 'Suits', Marvel's 'Cloak & Dagger', 'The Blacklist' + 'How To Get Away With Murder'.
