Biography
25 year old Linus’s interest in classic rock 'n' roll and rockabilly came early in his life. At the age of ten when he first heard Chuck Berry's ”Roll Over Beethoven”, he knew what it was all about - ROCK 'N' ROLL! Around the same time his discovery of Jerry Lee Lewis made the decision easy that the piano would become the main instrument, even though he also plays other instruments such as guitar, bass and drums. During his late teens he developed his unique voice and singing style that together with his piano playing has evolved to the artist ”Linus Zander”. The music is best described as a blend of classic piano rock mixed with rockabilly, country, blues and New Orleans boogie, which with a modern vintage sound really shows how "real" rock ’n’ roll should be played and sound like! 2019 Linus and his band The West Coast Boys participated in The Swedish Country Music Championship where they won in the rockabilly category. The same year he released his first Ep "Standing By Myself". In 2020 Linus signed a digital distribution deal with Atenzia Records which resulted in his release of the debut album "Linus Zander”. The album was met with good criticism, noticed in magazines such as "Får Jag Lov" and which received good spread on both Spotify and YouTube. In 2022, Linus and the band toured extensively around Sweden, performances that showed and proved that Linus Zander and The West Coast Boys belong and is here to stay on the modern Rockabilly and Rock’n’ Roll scene!
