Biography
Deaf Radio is a modern rock band formed in Athens, Greece in 2015, counting three full-length albums. Their debut, Alarm, was released to critical acclaim in 2017, as was their sophomore album, Modern Panic in 2019. On 11/11/22 they revealed their latest work, Arsenal of Hope. And while its two first albums hovered over hard rock/stoner and psychedelic genres, this album displayed a major aesthetic shift, with a broader use of synths and electronic elements, drawing from new wave and post-disco soundscapes. At the same time, Arsenal of Hope maintains their trademark high energy and anthemic choruses. Lyrically they reflect upon digital addiction, the lack of human touch, and the social struggle for equality. During the pandemic the quartet didn't stay idle. In 2021, the band played Exit Festival, was invited to Europe’s biggest industry showcase, Eurosonic (ESNS), and won the HEMI Music Awards, a programme co-funded by European Union’s Creative Europe. After a series of shows in 2022, the band will support its new album by touring Europe once more. Hailed as one of the most exciting rock bands to emerge from Greece in recent memory, Deaf Radio has shared bills with the likes of The Killers, The Kills, Clutch, All Them Witches and Hellacopters in Greek and European territory, honing the sound and feel of their music on the road, live and in-person with thousands of fans.
