Biography
Vocalist, instrumentalist, composer and producer Nick Borgen born in Andenes, Norway in 1952. Started his career in his teens, and was soon labelled "Norway's youngest pop guitarist". Went east to Sweden in the late 60's and joined the band Scan Seven. Entered the competition “Stjärna 71” in Sweden and won with a record contract to follow. The live album “Danspartaj” became a sales success. Nick also won the competition “Stjerne 73” in Norway, and made a Norwegian album for EMI. From 1975 he joined the dance band Thor-Erics and then concentrated his career around Sweden. In 1984, he got two songs in the Norwegian finals of the Eurovision Song Contest, and one of them - "La musikken leve" - was the title of a production where both Norwegian and Swedish elite musicians participated. The record contained a duet with Ina Tangerud and the autobiographical "Et liv". Then he went back to Sweden, where he started Nick Borgens Orkester. He started his most productive period as a record artist, with ten albums in as many years. Nick Borgen has had many big hits in Sweden. We can mention ”Den glider in” (for Three Crowns), “We are all the winners” and “the World Wide Web” (Eurovision). His latest album is called "En prostituerad narrs betraktelser" (2016). In the 2020s, Nick is constantly creating new music in his own studio, pleasing his fans with great new songs, and touring extensively.
