ASMAI is a Bruneian rapper and singer from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. ASMAI ventured onto a musical career as a teenager, independently releasing his first single "She Wonders Why" in 2018. Moving forward, ASMAI spent the next years sharpening and honing his craft as a Hip Hop artist, studying from one of the greatest of all time, the rapper that had a major influence on him growing up, Marshall Matthers. " I am big fan of wordplays, double entendre, bending words to rhyme, i mean i grew up listening to Em" When it comes to making music, ASMAI is known to be a very versatile artist who loves to dive into different sounds and genre. ASMAI's will to experiment and showcase his versatility is remarkable. He surprises listeners with emotional, talented singing and catchy songs that are like nothing he has written before. Combining its sonic versatility with measured artistic purpose and presentation, ASMAI follows a common theme but express it in different and surprising ways. His debut album, "CONFESSIONS" was originally intended to be a mixtape released in 2019, however, the expansion of the record into an album, coupled with two different incarcerations, repeatedly delayed the album's release. In 2020, "CONFESSIONS' was finally released, an album that represents different phases of his life, different emotions that he felt, telling the story of the ups & downs of love & the toxicity that comes with it.
