Biography
Marvin Sterling, better known as J Spades is a British U.K. Rap pioneer. Born in London and raised in Jamaica. On his return 10 years later, Spades found a home in Hackney. In 2009, following the success of his first ‘M.O.E.T. (Money On English Territory) Spades released what is known as an instant a U.K. Rap classic, making history. An innovator for changing the course and flow of UK rap, recognised a much, Spades dropped the video for ‘Hustle Hard’ remix (Ace Hood cover) with ground- breaking views on Youtube. The mixtape gained over 250,000 downloads within the first month of release in 2013, with leading track ‘Nobody’ featuring Mo Stacks and J Hus equally surpassing over 300K in first month of release and 2 million views to date. In Late 2014 J Spades featured on the Naughty Boy produced ‘Do It Big’, with Ghetts and Bashy remained on the BBC radio 1Xtra’s A-list and also performed on Wireless main stage. Spades debut single ‘GRT’ Get (Rich Together) released in 2015 peaked at 68 in U.K. Official charts and debut single featuring Tinie Tempah and Professor Green ‘SLICK RICK’, remained on the BBC Radio 1Xtra’s playlist for for 10 weeks. In 2018 Spade’s returned on the feature for ’Stars In The Wraith’ remix with Pak-Man and Smerker, he followed that with Skepta’s ‘Bad Energy (Stay Far Away) remix.
