Biography

Asher D (Ashley Walters), rapper, lyrist, actor, director, and producer first made waves on the British music scene with platinum selling group So Solid. After they split, he became a solo artist in his own right releasing his debut album Street Siblings in 2004, followed by Memory of the Street Fighter in 2006, The Appetiser in 2007 and Ashley Walters in 2009. Since then, Ashley has gone on to release several projects, the last of which was in 2019 with the track Top Boy. During this time Ashley has become a highly acclaimed actor best known for his starring role as Dushane in Top Boy (with highly anticipated S2 coming to Netflix on March 18th), his lead role as Ricky in Bullet Boy, and his role as Antwan in Get Rich, or Die Tryin’ alongside 50 Cent. Ashley has also starred across a multitude of TV dramas both in the UK and US. After a 3-year hiatus from releasing music Asher D is back with his new single Surgeon, followed by an EP due for release in Spring 2022. His new music has been inspired by his development as an actor and director and what the world has gone through over the past 2 years. In his own words Ashley describes the new music as visual.
