Biography

Helak is an Istanbul based sludge/experimental metal band formed by Moklich and Onur Başkurt in 2018. The band started as a duo and reached their current line up in mid-2019. Helak released their self-produced debut album Inferno on January 2019, the single Cestodes on November 2019, and their second album Heritor on April 2020. The band consists of Moklich on guitars, Onur Başkurt on drums and Onur Meriç on bass and vocals. Searching for a distinctive sound, Helak blends post, black and sludge metal with atmospheric elements.
