Nightland started in 2007 in Pesaro (Italy) by the will of the guitarist and singer Ludovico Cioffi. Initially inspired by melodic death/folk sonorities of bands like Children of Bodom and Ensiferum, they published their debut EP “Knights of the Dark Empire” in 2011, followed by a second EP “In Solemn Rise” in 2012. In 2015 they published their first full-length album “Obsession”, which contained their two singles “Icarus” and “Alpha et Omega”. It’s a concept album that marks a radical change in the band’s sound, introducing orchestral elements and symphonic choirs. In 2017 they played as direct support for Fleshgod Apocalypse and Carach Angren for the “King European Tour”. In such occasion they published a deluxe edition of "Obsession" and a reprint of the EP “In Solemn Rise” with Rockshots Records. In the same year Nightland published their single "Astralize". In 2018 they dedicated themselves to the production of their second full length album “Umbra Astra Luna”, released in November 2019, anticipated by the two singles One Million Suns and Lovers in a Colorless Summer. The sound keeps the symphonic mold of their previous work but is embellished by ever more majestic and polished orchestrations, along with the collaboration with the singer Elektra Amber. The concept behind “Umbra Astra Luna” speaks of obsure and romantic themes, linked with astrology and a veiled esoterism that transpires in the strong symbology that has always characterized the band’s image.
