Biography
UK-based Jessie Reid's hushed, confessional vocals and innovative, folk-influenced percussive guitar style have already drawn keen support from tastemaker press and comparisons with the likes of Lucy Rose, Memorial & Ben Howard. New single 'A Little Closer' (2023), featuring French-born Easymess, is a radiantly raw and breathtakingly beautiful indie folk love song evoking the sound of Bon Iver duetting with Iron & Wine. Despite previous singles racking up over 5 million streams and support from the likes of Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, along with a regional BBC Introducing Artist of the Year accolade, her first release of 2023 might just be Jessie’s strongest yet. Playing live is very much part of Jessie’s palette, with festival appearances at Black Deer Festival, Moseley Folk Festival and Green Gathering already under her belt, along with support slots for Seafret, Dan Owen, Ciaran Lavery, Bryde and Brooke Bentham, and multiple Sofar Sounds appearances across Europe, the UK and South America. "sublime new folk" - Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music "Achingly beautiful" - Folk Radio “delicious grooving guitar and delicate textured vocals” - Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music “Easymess and Jessie’s rich harmonies prove to be stunningly hypnotic” – York Calling “visceral songs that cut deep into the core of our shared human condition” – Atwood Magazine
