Biography
Carrie Grossman (Dayashila) is a devotional singer, musician, composer, and producer. For over 20 years, she has studied and practiced the art of sacred sound, guiding people into the sublime realms of the heart through her recordings, concerts, and retreats. A lifelong student of the mystical traditions, Carrie first traveled to India at the age of 21. It was there that she fell in love with kirtan (call and response chanting), but it wasn’t until ten years later that she began to write songs and play the harmonium. Since then, her music has evolved beyond any one category or genre, weaving together ethereal vocals, world elements, sacred pop motifs, and ambient soundscapes to create a truly original sound. To date, she has released four acclaimed albums, including Soma-Bandhu: Friend of the Moon, The Ram Sessions, Homeward, and Pranam. Each track explores a new landscape in the wild terrain of the heart.
