Biography

I've been at this for a while. I'd like to think I'm better at it than I was 25 years ago, but one thing that hasn't changed in all that time is that I've always just wanted to talk and sing about real and true things, in ways that are sincere, thought-provoking, and beautiful. So if you dig in to my music, I hope you hear that. I'm weary of "bad Christian art," and I've probably contributed to that as much as anyone. But my earnest and authentic desire is to create music that matters; to tell stories that ring true; to make art that sews up wounds and knocks down walls. If you give my music a listen, I hope that's what you find. In addition to my own career as an artist, I spend lots of time writing for other artists, and for advertising, film, and tv, as part of the Centricity Music writing team. Through lots of hard work, and an abundance of God's grace, my songs have been recorded by 100s of other artists, including Newsboys, Jason Gray, We Are Messengers, Cade Thompson, Jonny Diaz, Jordan Feliz, Micah Tyler, Shenandoah, JJ Heller and many others. And somehow my music has been featured in a fair amount of commercials, tv shows and other "sync" placements. I live in Nashville with my wife and my 4 kids.
