Biography

Instead of referencing fellow Sheffield artists the Human League and ABC, TYNI cites the likes of Lene Lovich and Madonna -- as well as David Bowie and Lady Gaga -- among the artists who have inspired her contemporary spin on electronic pop. A performance at a small-scale music industry showcase brought TYNI to the attention of producer Wayne Wilkins (Natasha Bedingfield, Shontelle, Cheryl Cole), who signed her to his Croydon Boy label. As Tiny Dancer, she made her recorded debut in 2013 with "Who Am I," then dropped the latter half of her name and switched the vowel placements of her mononym. After working on additional material with Wilkins and other accomplished collaborators such as Ana Diaz and MNEK, she released another EP, Fighter, in 2017. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
